Student Life in Sept

Summer Service Projects, Boomers, CIY, Lake Arrowhead, Laser Tag. Our summer was full of lots of fun, but it was also very productive and challenging. Now that school is back, it’s time to put what we learned into practice and to live out what we know to be true. But, we are definitely going to continue having some great fun as we grow together in Christ-likeness.

Changing Things Up
Wednesday Night Youth Group – We will be moving to a joint teaching program on Wednesday nights, where I will do the primary teaching/lesson for both Jr. High and High School together. This will allow the youth sponsors to focus more on building relationships in small groups. After the main lesson, students will break up into small groups with their peers and sponsors to discuss, dialog, and pray together. It’s going to be a great chance for us to go deeper in our relationships with each other in a more focused way.

“Open the Mouths of our Heart, Lord” – One thing that has been lacking in our Youth program is focused time to worship God through singing, prayer, and meditation. So, this Fall we are going to begin incorporating these avenues of worship into our Wed. night youth program. I believe that it will truly bring glory to God.

Monthly Service Projects – During the summer we started our S.S.P’s and found them to be very fulfilling and challenging. So, we’re going to continue or Service Projects on a monthly basis. Our Jr. High and High School students will have the opportunity to serve above and beyond their regular church-related activities. Keep an eye out for Service Project times & dates.

Fall Bible Study - The Book of James“Walking the
Talk.” Our study will lead us to an understanding that our faith needs action just as much as our action needs faith. James is a challenging book full of practical life applications, covering such topics as: Resisting Temptation, Taming the Tongue, Patience in Suffering, and more. Our relationships with each other and with God are truly going to be challenged, deepened, and strengthened.
